Each month when the moon looks like this The Girl Child shows up. It’s the “Spring Equinox of the month”.
So, being under a Girl Child moon during Spring Equinox season is pretty extra.
She’s in your face today, insistent.
C’mon c’mon! Let’s play!, she not-so-subtly suggests.
Yo, we’re in a pandemic. We’re quarantined. It’s not the time for fun and games! you might bark back, white knuckling your phone and hand santizer.
But what if she’s right?
What if play is exactly what you should be doing right now?
When you play, you enter an expansive place. You trade in restriction for possibilities, you experiment, you pretend, you move and act without first considering.
This is also called a “flow state”.
Most of my best ideas have come through play.
My favorite way to play has always been “pretend”.
I’ve figured out really innovative things, like the Archetype Mapping divination, through pretend.
One summer evening a few years back I invited about 10 of my ace-girls over for dinner on the screened porch. I told them I needed help figuring something out.
After dinner, I passed around worksheets with a hand drawn circle on it (I traced it with a plate), divided into 12 sections (I used the edge of my clipboard). Then I put drops anointing oils onto little strips I cut out from my big pad of water color paper.
Essentially, I had an idea and pretended I already knew how to do it. My pals came over and pretended to be my clients.
It took the pressure off. It allowed me to enjoy the process; notice what worked and what didn’t from a place of curiosity instead of performance anxiety.
And now I have this thing, Archetype Mapping. It’s deep, it’s effective, and it helps people get clear super fast.
So, The Girl Child archetype can help you find solutions by reminding you to chill-the-fuck-out and play.
When your mind is clamped down, it cannot innovate.
