Invocations are a necessary part of a ritual. They not only create an atmosphere of connection and protection, they also kindle the wisest territories of the psyche.
The little darlin’ in each line is inspired by the lyric in Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles. For maximum fun, sing little darlin’ just like in the song.
Face the East and say:
Little darlin’ I call to you and the delight you bring; I welcome the rising sun and the start of a new day, the arrival of springtime birds and their songs that herald the Light half. When I face the East, I remember that I know how to start anew, too.
Face the South and say:
Little darlin’ I call to you and the delight you bring; I welcome the longer days and the warmth of the sun, the excitement and wonder at all the thing moving and growing. When I face the South, I remember that I know how to grow and move, too.
Face the West and say:
Little darlin’ I call to you and the delight you bring; I welcome soft spring rains and the rainbows shining off the raindrops, the pools of peepers and tadpoles wiggling, swimming, and singing into being. When I face the West, I remember that I know how to shine after a storm, too.
Face the North and say:
Little darlin’ I call to you and the delight you bring; I welcome the hibernators waking up, the little bear cubs born during The Dreaming exploring the world for the first time. When I face the North, I remember that I know how to explore the world, too.
Face the Center and say:
Little darlin’, delight at my Center, I honor you. I honor myself as a source of delight, a beacon for curiosity, and a temple of original genius. I am grateful for my Center, for the own wisdom & mystery that thrives there, safe and sound.
