I’ve spent the last nine years looking at the patterns of the moon in terms of the Darkwood Archetypes.
The moon has 8 specific phases that overlay with the 8 seasons of the Wheel of the Year quite tidily.
By looking at the moon’s patterns in conjunction with the Wheel of the Year’s holy days, I can see unique patterns indicating how the wisdom of the Darkwood archetypes will guide, inspire, and influence.
It took me awhile to see these patterns, though; year after year of noticing and experiencing, feeling the patterns affect my own life and watching as they also influenced others’.
In late 2024, despite just having gone through Hurricane Helene, I sat down and looked at all of 2025’s “archetypal patterns”, and created, for the first time ever, a prediction.
I wrote it out, and a handful of Darkwood scholars read it.
Then I, reeling from the storm and struggling to keep afloat, forgot all about it until I sat down to look at the patterns of 2026.
Re-reading the 2025 prediction made me chuckle.
There was my year, the great parts and the shit parts, all laid out.
Re-reading that prediction made the shit parts make sense and helped me accept them as necessary steppingstones.
So, I wondered if this 2025 prediction might resonate with you, too.
So, here it is. If it rings true, the 2026 version awaits you in this year’s Darkwood Almanac.
2025 will be a year of profound commitments. The way you devote your life force will ripple through time and space, exponentially affecting your personal evolution and everyone whom your evolution benefits. Take your vows seriously this year.
Allies who support your vows this year are paramount. Make sure that the people you’re spending time around naturally contribute to your focus and devotion, whether they are aware of your vows or not. You will spend this year discerning and refining this.
You will have lots of support shedding and releasing things that are “not you”. Anything clouding, shrouding, obscuring, blurring, or diluting your Self will go this year. There will be opportunities to do so with ease, so pay attention so as not to miss this momentum. And remember, when a snake sheds its skin, it is blind for days afterword, so as you shed your outgrown aspects, self-care practices, patience, and protection are important.
Your harvest will come in like crazy this year, but only once there’s room.
Expect harvests that fill the coffers of delight and joy. Start the year off by imagining things like giant treasure chests, humongous honeycombs, and the tallest silos, all empty and awaiting their bounty.
In terms of containers, the mettle of your metal will be tested this year. Make sure the integrity of your containers is sound, whether they’re holding wealth or experiences for others. Cast your circles with conviction.
Your hard work will be rewarded this year with ample rest in The Dreaming.
This year will conclude with a long stretch of velvety dark, softly piled with time and space. Winter Solstice will feel particularly inward and quiet, so make sure you make space for rest and stillness in your calendar. To make the most of this unusual occurrence, spend each Dreaming moon throughout the year practicing rest, quiet, stillness, and dreaming.
