Basically, it’s the thing you’ve been looking for.
Especially if you’ve been struggling to put your finger on just exactly who you are and what you do.
Mystery School, as I teach it, is a giant mirror held devotionally still so you can see your Self.
But let’s back up.
Mystery Schools show up as Hogwarts in Harry Potter and Avalon in Arthurian legend.
It’s the EarthSea school as written by Ursula K LeGuin.
Once upon a time, in the realm of fiction and not, individuals with certain proclivities were plucked from their everyday life and invited to attend a program they’d only dreamed of.
The proclivities? A deep connection to nature and her rhythms, a desire to walk a solid path, and an aptitude for reading symbols, tracking subtle energy, rituals, and magic.
The program? A “mystery school”, a place where you are no longer an odd-one-out, the black sheep, the weirdo.
In a mystery school, you are a unique snowflake in a blizzard of other magical beings, ready to refine and study something that once seemed “crazy”.
But here’s the thing.
While they are often relegated to the realm of fiction, “mystery schools” are very real, and probably part of your path.
Maybe it’s even your next step.
The Mystical Year is a mystery school.
It’s specific, and that will help you align with it.
The Mystical Year is based upon:
- anointing oils and botanical aromas as mystical tools
- writing to help access subconscious wisdom
- ritual
- the wheel of the year
- feminine archetypes
These are “languages” that you will learn.
So imagine, being a character in Harry Potter or The Mists of Avalon, and you are plucked from your everyday life because of your proclivities for magic and plunked down into a mystery school.
You get text books.
Oil kits.
Ritual items like smudge bundles, stones, and potions for all 8 seasons.
You write the most incredible poetry, even though you might not think of yourself as a “writer”.
You work with a small crew of other magical beings to write, ritualize, and hone your sensory wisdom and sacred noticing for a full, devoted year.
And by the end of this, you can look in the mirror and finally see your Self; you will know who you are and what you’re here to do.
