In ritual, we use invocations to awaken areas of our psyche and kindle our wisdom. This ritual step invites us to notice nature and the ways we mirror it.
It might feel like calling in ‘other’, but it’s mostly calling to the wide territories of our own intelligence.
Begin this ritual by anointing the top of your head (or wherever feels right) with The Wisdom Keeper anointing oil.
Face the East and say:
I face the East and call the Wisdom Keepers. I call the winged ones and soaring ones and their wisdom to ride currents of air. I call the ones who know when it’s time to start something new. I call the Wisdom Keepers who tend the hearths of mental intelligence. When I face East, I remember that I have this wisdom and mystery, too.
Face the South and say:
I face the South and call the Wisdom Keepers. I call the heat seekers and fire breathers, and their wisdom at harnessing warmth for vitality. I call the ones who know how and when to take action. I call the Wisdom Keepers who tend the hearths of metabolic intelligence. When I face South, I remember that I have this wisdom and mystery, too.
Face the West and say:
I face the West and call the Wisdom Keepers. I call the deep divers and strong swimmers. I call the ones who know when to go with the flow and embrace fluidity. I call the Wisdom Keepers who tend the hearths of emotional intelligence. When I face West, I remember that I have this wisdom and mystery, too.
Face the North and say:
I face the North and call the Wisdom Keepers. I call the hibernators and nocturnal ones. I call the ones who know when to rest and seek the Dark half. I call the Wisdom Keepers who tend the hearths of physical intelligence. When I face North, I remember that I have this wisdom and mystery, too.
Face Center and say:
I face Center and bow to the Wisdom Keeper there. I honor the medicine tent within, the place where I go to Know. I call the one who Knows, the one who tends the hearth of the soul’s intelligence. When I face Center, I honor my own wisdom and mystery.
