When the moon reflects the season’s archetype (Tantrika moon during Tantrika season), it can feel wonderfully inundating, like Nature infusing each breath with seasonal wisdom.
To celebrate this Tantrika moon and its/our own wisdom, I’m sharing an invocation and anointing ritual.
This is a simple ritual to ignite your wisdom. It weaves a web of connection and protection. It can be a ritual unto itself, or a preparatory step in a larger ritual.
Begin by anointing with the Tantrika oil. Then face each direction as you speak or think these words. Feel free to riff and add your own.
Face the East.
Beloved East, we call to you and your wisdom. We call the first spark of a fire, and the soft molten sunrise that flows over the horizon. We call morning blooms veiled in dew, and the first blush of love. When we face the east, we remember that everything must first begin, and that even the day starts over.
Face the South.
Beloved South, we call to you and your wisdom. We call the roaring flames of a fire, the ones transforming dough into bread, sand into glass, form into ash. We call the noonday sun that coaxes the day bloomers open, warming the nectar into a fragrant invitation. When we face the south, we remember to offer warmth.
Face the West.
Beloved West, we call to you and your wisdom. We call the quiet embers, cooling into the night. We call in evenings made gentle with warm cups of tea and late springtime hearth fires. When we face the west, we remember the pleasure of a fading intensity.
Face the North.
Beloved North, we call to you and your wisdom. We call the dark of night and its stillness, the quiet hearth. We call the night bloomers, glowing white under the moon, attracting nocturnal pollinators from miles away. When we face the north, we remember the appeal of dark and quietude.
Face your Center.
Beloved Center, we honor you. You are our inner flame, our love light. Temple of nectar, we honor our own consistent wisdom and warmth.
love and Tantrika wisdom,
